That was really cool, so many of our oldest buildings have survived so long; it's interesting to me that according to that article " ... and about half of these sites are still part of its built environment" but not at all surprising haha. It reminded me of something that happened just yesterday, and this seems like a good place to share.

England's oldest hotel that dated back to 1769, burnt down.

The hotel is in Exeter, which was heavily bombed in the war, and is just metres away from Exeter Cathedral which was built back in the 11th-12th-15th centuries; several other listed buildings {?} were also damaged.
