I have a thousand horror stories. Situations where I looked at what I had in front of me and said Fuck it, I'm out. I've quit working IT a thousand times. Yet, each time I calm down, deal with the situation and come back. Because for every horror story there are at least a hundred kick ass stories where I truly helped someone, where i did what everyone thought was impossible. Meeting where I was praised in front of the whole leadership of the company for saving tens of thousands of dollars.

Is it worth it? Not sure. It pays well, it is a highly skilled job and a good IT Admin can save a company thousands even millions of dollars. Then you have the day that Cletus in a backhoe runs over the fibre connection to a remote site and you have 50 people screaming at you.

If you like challenges, puzzles, WTF's, solving complex riddles? Networking is awesome. At the CCNA level you won't be dealing with end users so your experience will be different than mine. I never bothered to get certs except once when I was a contractor and walked in and aced three of the MCSE tests to say I had them. Get that CCNA and you will always have a job somewhere, never be unemployed, always in demand... and that feeling alone is worth all of it.

And for the love of all that is holy and decent in this life learn cable management like it is a new religious faith.
