Could I get the Cliff's notes version of this? I read the whole thing, hoping that there would be some type of conclusion that brought all the ramblings together and truthfully, hoping to feel smarter for having read about all these concepts. But I still don't see it. I'm always hesitant to ask about these types of blog articles because of the possibility of the person linking it might be the author. If so, I don't mean to offend.

This part is true.

This post is me trying to throw the elephant right at you at ninety miles an hour, except I digress into poetry and mysticism and it ends up being a confusing symbolically-laden elephant full of weird literary criticism and fringe futurology. If you want something sober, go read the one about SSRIs again.

Except you add on his musings on politics, economic systems, religion, mythology and then some -- all written from a "god's eye view" which wouldn't be so annoying if he didn't actually at some point write about God and claim that he'd be up for the job.

From what I could tell, he simplified a whole slew of paradigms of humanity from various perspectives, created a single example for each one to exemplify the entire system and then claim to solve the whole thing from a "god's eye view". To the extent that the simplistic model can't be solved, it's the fault of the mythical Moloch, which is just another word for complexity as far as I can tell.

I disagreed with his point about the future of robotics. It was way optimistic, especially in light of his pessimism of humans.

Was there some theme or conclusion to be drawn from all of this?
