So, this kind of stuff makes me super excited. When we first sequenced the human genome there were dreams of personalized medicine, tailored to fit your genes and genetic expression. This kind of therapy is one big step towards the full realization of that dream.

My primary project at work is another step. The drug that I am testing is only effective in populations with a specific sarcomere mutation. If everything goes the way that we think it will after this trial is complete, my clinic (And lots of others) will officially start prescribing preventative and therapeutic courses of treatment for people based on their genetic code. Which is really goddamn cool.
