Not sure who to reply to, but another thing worth considering is intersectionality: the idea that forms of oppression cannot be considered independently of one another, because they interact. For example, in the USA a rich white man's experience of homophobia is going to be different from a poor black woman's experience of it, due to other factors (racism, class-ism, sexism) coming into play.

This is a big topic but worth understanding because it can be applied to any form of discrimination, such as classism, racism, ageism, xenophobia, religious discimination, caste discrimination, sexism, discrimination based on mental health, etc etc. Better-informed people than me have written about it.
