In an update, they said that Google would reinstate their ads. It's very likely that this has nothing to do with the U.S. Government, and more to do with Google's ad network policies. They are a private company, and they have been clamping down on images across their applications. Of course the US government should not suppress the dissemination of this information, but to yell 'fire' when there is none risks loss of credibility. Perhaps antiwar could put a graphic content filter over their images that can be removed by a click as other news organizations do. They are in a contractual relationship with Google if they are running their ads. Doing that might suffice.
