Is this the straw that broke the camel's back? I suppose so.

I don't really have to respond to this. Not because I've never cheated, as I've never been in a relationship long enough to encounter the issue, so I don't need to throw my hat in the ring in that department. But because you've already dismissed my response in your paragraph. I think, teamr, therein lies the issue.

I don't mean to lecture you, but you're very dismissive. People have muted you because they don't appreciate the way you believe discourse should be handled. Beyond that, you feel no need to reflect on the way you approach situations. You barge in with harsh words, or unnecessary ones, then, when lashed against, you claim, "ah, well that's your own problem, and this is the internet, so what you say or feel doesn't matter."

That's now how discussions work in real life, do they? I mean if they did, they'd be pretty awkward.

Think about it. Here, you say you've been cheated on, you say you've seen its fallout...why did you not bring any of those points up in that thread? Instead, you called the OP a fuckhead. That's the equivalent of a 13 year old's whining. I know you're an intelligent person - you've made sure other people know that many times in other threads - but the way you approach conversations does not reflect that intelligence.

I know a few other people that are like you, teamr. This is a genuine suggestion, not one that should be taken with malice: Rethink the way you approach discussions. Maybe even reflect on how you feel about yourself, in relation to how you feel about others. I think things'd be much more relaxing and productive for you.

I would not say that I'm happy to see you go, but with the way you interact with others on Hubski, I can't say your attitude will be missed, either. Just being honest there. I'm sure the community would be glad to welcome you back, if the latter changes, and you choose to return.

God speed.
