_ref_, I used to live in a country where girls are told that if they touch themselves, or enjoy having sex at all, that it means that they're whores. Or if they date foreigners, they're whores. And not "whores" as in sluts, "whores" as in prostitutes . . . who are probably also sluts. I mean, I knew a girl that asked for tissues when she got wet because she thought she wasn't supposed to get wet and that something was wrong.

I'm not saying that slut shaming in America isn't a thing, just that . . . I think American society has a strange relationship with slut shaming. And with jealousy and intimacy and what it is to be human on many, many fronts.

Anyway, sometimes I think it's strange how preoccupied people are with oral sex. Yeah, ok maybe it's "dirty" and that makes it kind of kinky for some people. I dunno, it's like meeting people who have just discovered Chinese food and feel really proud of themselves for trying General Tso's chicken (I was gonna go with crab rangoons, but too easy!). So, I agree. If that's as exotic as people are willing to go, that is sad.
