This is really interesting. I've heard that we are actually reforesting for the most part here in America while areas like the Amazon are still deforesting but it's nice to see it visualized. I think one thing that is misleading about this image though is that I know intuitively that the forests of Appalachia and the East coast don't have as much lumber per sq/ft as the western US. While in this image it makes you think that all forests are created equally. I'd like to see it weighted by lumber/sqft or equivalent amount of CO_2 captured per yr.
