I took a few months off and it really did not affect me all that much. Actual face time and phone calls replaced IM and email. Web surfing time became reading time. The biggest drawback of not being online is the ease of retrieving information.

mk, you're doing a fine job on the site. Besides the the columns experiment, all upgrades, major and minor, have added to the user experience. Kudos to the hubski team!!

I am curious to see what hubski.com will evolve into during the course of the next year as new features and functionalities are added while growing the community.

I don't know about now, but when I was going through high school, most of the Latin American friends found the term "hispanic" a little offensive. They used to say, where the hell is "Hispanica?" I don't see it on any map.

Latin Americans are a very diverse group with very different cultures and histories. But for whatever reason, the marketers, networks, pollsters, and etc... like to lump them all into a single box. Until they take the time to understand the diversity, I think they will continue to fail in reaching them.

Another lifetime ago when all I did was from the CLI, I used ion as my window manager. I used Fluxbox for sometime and am a big fan of XFCE.

You are correct. It is LM, but it is LM 13. I decided to give it a try since I've been hearing very good things about it. So far, I am not disappointed. Cinnamon is not too bad.
