And we are back.

UPDATE: To address this, I've added a close button in the upper-right of the hover-display.

I have only my iPhone on me to test it, but it seemed to work well. If you have an iPad at your disposal, please let me know how this works for you.

Thanks again for catching this.

Thanks. I too found this issue this morning, bhousel. However, on the laptop/desktop, I do like the ease of closing the display on a mouseover. I'll work on a tablet/phone solution.

UPDATE: I've had enough feedback to the effect that the comments on the right of the mainpage are not ideal. Most importantly, my wife really dislikes them. :) In addition, there has been some criticism and confusion regarding the hovertext placement and content. I am currently working on a new design that will address both of these issues.

Expect a UI update in the next few days.

A small hub-bug has been found. When you click 'next page' in a hub or hubfeed, it breaks. I've found the problem, but the solution takes a bit of diligent code editing. :) It should work properly by tomorrow. -Thanks.

UPDATE: I've implemented a fix. The 'next page's of the Hub and Hubfeed are slightly abbbreviated. Over time, I will be doing some more work here that will alter the format of these extended pages.

Email sent.

I was just made aware of this bitcoin-based tip service, which is similar to flattr.com. http://www.youtipit.org It seems too confusing, however.

I am tempted to try it on Hubski in the future, perhaps instead of flattr. We have address, http://hubski.com/bitcoin but I am going to sit on it for some time.

That's a good point. I think I'll experiment with making the hover box a bit more opaque, and to give it a border that might make it look less messy.

BTW, on your profile page, you can toggle the hovertext off if you like.

Thanks!

Hm. Is there any chance you can send me a screenshot? Either email or by posting it to http://imgur.com? Also, what is your screen resolution/ratio?

I've tested on Firefox 4.0 and Chrome 11.0.696.34 beta, and my iPhone. I think it has to do with the widths I am setting for the columns. Arc's HTML interface is not too fancy, so it's easy to make a mistake.

Thanks!

EDIT: I think I see the problem. Is the comment column longer than the link column in your view?

EDIT2: I made a small change. Let me know if it helped.

Have no worries about this type of self-promotion. As long as it can be maintained, I'd like Hubski to be a place where people can share not only their ideas, but the fruits of them. It doesn't seem right that we should feel free to share opinions and ideas, but once we create something, feel reluctant to share it.

I'm going to think on this some, but I feel the Hubski policy should be: "If you created it, you can share it." After some reflection, I will state something to that effect on our about page. Maybe we could suggest a special tag for personal works. I think previous contributions to Hubski could be a consideration too.

If anyone has any thoughts on how we might best do this, please share.

'Grow Up' is a very nice song, BTW.

Congratulations on the first post with zombies as the tag.

I am in China, and I can't open this link. It seems that all of youtube is blocked here. Vimeo seems available, however.
