For sure Marx is the great one. Communism wouldn't be much at all without him. Unfortunately for the author Communism is a lot more than Marx now. There have been tons of influential Marxist thinkers across a wide variety of disciplines. Marx may be the father but his theories have grown a bit over the interceding decades. It's ok to disagree with Marx on some points and still be a Communist.
