I have only been on this site once, about a year or two ago. Just now I randomly saw hubski in my bookmarks and your post was the first thing I clicked - it was like reading my exact thoughts for the past couple months, building up to the exact same "IT DIDN’T HAVE TO BE FUCKED UP!" analysis. Thank you for writing this. Don't know if I can/will quit yet, but I am so close to reaching that point, and hearing someone else voice the exact same feelings and thought processes I'm having was... validating. Just this morning my wife told me that when my alarm was going off after four hours of stressful sleep, I was muttering about some inane details of a client's site configuration. I just can't live with myself like that forever (and I doubt she can either). So thanks.
