OO  ·  1824 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What movie have you re-watched the most?

Lion King

I'd watch it literally 1 - 3 times a day when I was around 4 or something. We had a lot of other Disney VHS films lying around, but I always stuck with that one.

Imgur has been painfully slow for the few last month for me.

I've been on Imgur for at least a year, and it hasn't been this bad. Everything doesn't load properly and it takes at least a few minutes for a gif to load.

I totally agree with your post.

Thanks for letting me know of those other hubski tags.

OO  ·  1825 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How do you stay up to date with news?

Wow, now I just realized that I don't go on Reddit as much as I used to to seek out for the latest news.

I've been getting my news lately from Twitter mainly. I follow BBC, and these other accounts to stay up to date.

OO  ·  1825 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Hubski, how do you find meaning in your life?

Eh, just make the most out of it. That's how I follow my own motto.

It doesn't really matter to be honest unless you really seek and ponder into finding the answer, but it all ends down to what you really believe in. Just because you don't believe in God doesn't mean you should just leave the world, or because you believe in a god doesn't mean you should worship Him or Them.

It's all down to you, and it's all up to you.

OO  ·  1826 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Hubski, where do you want to live?

Norway. Preferably Oslo.

I love the culture there, it feels nostalgic in some ways and the nature is so beautiful. Just look at the fjords!

OO  ·  1828 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What is everyone's opinion on ebooks? Do you prefer them to physical paper books?

I loved printed because it feels great when the pages are tangable. It's also great to see it on your bookshlef as well--it gives off character :)

But for portability, an eBook such as a kindle is the prime choice.

Both have their ups and downs, but I would end off this note by saying a hard cold book is the winner for me.

OO  ·  1828 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Could you live without a computer or smartphone?

Could I physically, of course, however I may have a slight and smidge withdrawal.

But at the end of the road, I could not me tally take on this grand task. It's built upon our society and we actually depe d on it whether we like it or not.

Now I wouldn't say to downgrade your favorite word process to an archaic, rusy ol' typewriter. Like what ampuseinmyhouse said, you must control your feed of conaumption, not eliminating your devices.

OO  ·  1829 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Going on a long plane fight, what are some must downloads?

I was just going to say this.

If anyone who is interested in science, like people who aren't total nerd talking about equations for forty minutes, I would recommend Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson (+ Bill Nye). These guys are really humorous in their own unique ways and you get a lot from just one episode.

OO  ·  1829 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Chromebook Flip Review

I had a sudden urge to check out Chromebooks because I remembered that it was just basically a physical web browser--and that's in a good way.

When I found out that most of their Chromebooks are just too small and so.. so, so *ugly. Not getting a Chromebook until other companies up their game.

OO  ·  1829 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: I Spilled Coffee on my DELL - and here's the happy story!

If a keyboard counts, then yes; I purposely sprayed hydrogen peroxide (because I didn't have rubbing alcohol) to clean by keycaps and the insides of my keyboard.

Yay :D

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What will you miss most from Reddit?

I loved some of the cozyness on some of the subreddits I've visited over the years. It felt really pleasant and nice to see. IMO, Hubski is a bit too bland for my tastes--I didn't get fully used to it (yet..)

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?

Play with Hot Wheels. Set up scenes straight from my imaginations and re-inact some action shots right in my head.

During the outdoors, I would collect some ladybugs and lay them on my hand and closely observe them--then let them free; what was interesting about this was when they would deploy their per-flight wings and make them stick out from their shells. This would be the most fascinating thing I observed when studying ladybugs when I was like five.

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: The US Army to cut 40,000 soldiers and 17,000 civilians over 2 years

I'm glad that this is happening because it means we will be spending a lot more less on the military. Also I'm guessing because we haven't had any huge wars in a few decades.

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Hubski, Who is Your Favorite Philosopher and Why?

Now I really want to read The Myth of Sisyphus.

I've read the Amazon review of this book, and they all seemed generally super positive. I'm looking forward into reading this copy. Thanks :)

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What kind of mouse do you use?

Used to use a wireless Logitech Performance MX; now I'm using a Cyborg Rat 5 because I had it a year ago until it broke--this mouse feels sooo good in the hands and has a few extra buttons.

The author is so biased--it's not even funny.

OO  ·  1830 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Whats a good lightweight launcher?

Apex or Nova. Either one works depending on your personal preferences.

Both have free options or a paid version.

OO  ·  1831 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Mozilla announces big changes to Firefox, in order to win back users.

SWEET. I was actually contemplating about switching browsers from Chrome.

I hope Mozilla revamps the UI so that the layout isn't so cluttered and ugly

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What are the movies or books that show a story rather than tell it?

Definitely Wall-E

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What do you think will be the future of technology?

This is what I'm waiting for aside from all of those other cool gadgets and innovations in the near future.

A lot of people assume that machines will turn evil just like how it portrayed in the Terminator series, and Avengers Age of Ultron, and a countless of other movies and T.V shows. However, I believe that this won't happen because you just cannot get a bad AI if you don't program it that way.

It's interesting to see that even well-known people such as Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and a few others are trying to fund programs to avoid killer AI--which is a good way to use money imo.

For other people who read my comment are interested in AI, please check out this video:

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Hubski, have you noticed change in your argumentation sinice joining Hubski?

Since this site feels so elegant and sleek, it made me change my attitude in replying and posting on here.

I think this transition was a good one :)

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What are your morning routines?

Yikes, you've gotta break that habit soon.

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What if we can never travel faster than the speed of light?

Well we never can, according to Einstein's theory of relativity.

But I've read that we could bend space and just warp at an instant. Who knows when this won't just be 'theoretical'

OO  ·  1832 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Hubski, what are your hobbies, and how did you discover them?

I've kind of gotten into Astrophotography lately just by browsing the Internet. I remember my parents purchasing this super micro sized white telescope that was designed for viewing the moon. I had learned about space and other planets right after that.

Astrophotography is an interesting field because you need a heafty telescope to see throughout our galaxy and enter into other ones. The main problem for me being unable to peruse this hobby even more is the cost. Telescopes are expensive :(

OO  ·  1835 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Welcome.

Wow. This is the very first post?

Feels like someday this post will become part of history

OO  ·  1835 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What is the meaning behind your user name?

Uh, not too sure.

OO  ·  1835 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: We need a 'dark' theme for Hubski

Oh. Wow thanks.

I guess I haven't truely explored on this site yet. Thanks for the help!
