It's pretty clear. The reply/comment links are replaced with 'ignored here'.

If you're going to do that, you might as well href to the account creation page, because that is the next step for an ignored troll.

Also, some of the people I have ignored are not trolls, and ignoring them has potential social consequences.

:) Yeah, I've thought of that. I just prefer not to implement functions unless it's clear there's a need.

If need be, I'll address that.

It's not always a clear decision. I understand that.

A third reason: Ignored people might still have productive discussions underneath someone who doesn't want to hear it, and it could be beneficial of they were still allowed to post, and it was still visible to others who are browsing the thread.

I really can't think of a good reason not to provide true "ignore" functionality rather than blocking ignored users from posting.

edit: also, i just realized that ignore lists are public. you certainly have an interesting approach to this. why do you hate the beatles?

Exactly! Why?? I've been wondering for years but I'm afraid he is firmly set in his ways.

Or maybe just madness. I removed the public list for the time being. :/

Method to my madness, I tell you.

why do you hate the beatles?

I'm pretty sure it's neurological. Sometimes I enjoy an arbitrary bias, but with the Beatles it just came naturally. I've just never felt it.

It was something that I considered. But at least for now, I want to let users decide and to keep it in the open. We will see how it plays out.
