I doubt they will bring their influences over

It appears several unimaginative reddit tropes have made their way over to hubski over the past week and it's disappointing. I don't know how this post even showed up in my feed - it's got one share and I'm not following the person that shared this.

I've been applying the "ignore" function liberally to both users and tags. It's really really good, saves a lot of grief. My rule is that if a tag looks a bit too much like a subreddit, it's time to ignore it. Keeps your feed very clean. You should also limit or turn off "global posts" in your options if you haven't. That helps.

Thanks for the tip re: turning off 'global posts'.

Hey hiss and MattholomewCup. The ignore function was just ramped up, so it should be easier to preserve the Husbki you know. Let me know how it works out for you.

There is an option in "controls" (found under the "my hubski" heading at left) for "global-posts". The default is set to many, I believe. Global posts are posts from outside of your feed that are stuck in to help people accidentally discover new content. You can switch your settings to have few or zero global posts. We're currently thinking of better methods to discover good content that users might not otherwise see, but its a work in progress.
