Evolution and God can work together as an idea if we think...

....everything is part of a HUGE brain... if everything interacts with everything else....and is in some way related to everything else.... ....and everything has a pattren of behaviour (even if it deviates a bit sometimes)...

then we could say that every thing (small and big) is like each part of the human brain....

and some brains in nature have parts we don't have/need and some brains are simple while others are complex.

What if everything is part of a great brain and every action is a thought process in motion? Right down to the leaves moving in the trees? We would be part of the most evolved brain known!! Perhaps this is the God we should worship? A little impersonal for the likes of a lot of people, but one that knows all and has a hand in everything? There are plenty of things that science has found and proven that suggest such an idea...

but I don't know, I've just had pizza and coffee:)

The god (or religious) meme was created through the evolution of the human brain, not the other way around. 13,7 billion years since the universe began seems like an awful long time to wait for a creature to emerge that could imagine you. Creationism versus evolution is a senseless discussion. The proven facts of evolution makes believing in a god obsolete.

Such a God-brain-thing, if it existed, would be unlikely to be concerned with our lives, and even less likely to be concerned with whether or not we "worship" it. Do you care about the day-to-day lives of your neurons and other cells?

It seems to me to be the ideology of someone who desperately wants to retain the idea of a God - "God must exist; therefore, what kind of God can we imagine, that we can live with, and still believe in our science?" No offense intended to any believers out there.

I have never figured out why there should be a tension between evolution and God.

systems that resemble each other do not necessarily relate to being the same

It's always interesting to think of scale and how it relates to our perceptions. Check out this post from a while ago. Perhaps beyond the known universe is the equivalent of another beings (universes) Quantum Foam?

Also, I want some pizza.
