yes I know I could have used someone else
remember me when you're rich insomniasexx
No one is converting currency to ETH; they're converting BTC to ETH. This is good reason to believe that the current price spike is temporal, and it will subside once enough people have abandoned BTC. Meanwhile, the price of BTC hasn't budged, so that suggests that only a small fraction of that community is jumping ship right now (but of course a small fraction of BTC means a lot to the fledgling ETH). I think we'll see a retreat of the price of ETH, not all the way back to a buck, but maybe half what it is now, then a much larger rise when it actually starts doing something. Don't fret flagamuffin, the price will fluctuate for a while. You can still buy low. Or even if it doesn't, buying BTC at $6 instead of $2 still would have paid off.
Which is also why I'm not super worried about it, but more annoyed. If it's only going to get easier then I imagine the price will really go up at that point. Especially if companies seem to be taking this a bit more seriously than bitcoin.
I'm sorry. I'll give you boat #3 when I'm rich. It may be the smallest, but it has the most character!
YO! WAKE UP! Have you cleared yet??? Have you bought yet? Price is stabilizing after a massive 2-day gain. BUY NOW! $ 4.94 right now.
LOL. Fuckin' hell. I'm about to start buying you all ETH and you can paypal me later (or I will track you down and rip you apart). I'm tier 3 on Kraken but I haven't bought via USD yet. Lemme see if kvhnuke has.
Serioulsy. Buy me some. I'm good for it. No joke. This waiting sucks!
WAKE UP! Maybe the krakenexchange dude can help you in this thread. Apparently, they pay attention to reddit threads but not their actual support line. https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/45ntki/commited_a_rookie_mistake_and_lost_my_ethsmh/
Oh. I'm still waiting to be verified for Tier 3. This is such a fucking pain. jeez.
In the business that's called frictional cost Before trading you should be aware of those cost. A high slippage cost on a market with low liquidity will ruin your chance faster than bad decision. You should then opt for a very long term investment strategy. The raise of almost instant fiber cable transmission a few years ago was the only reason High frequency trading became a thing. The less slippage, the more operation you can make without being ruined. If ethereum is that bad of a market (800$ slippage/ operation).. buy and hold.
yeah I'm pretty pissed over the amount of funding that's been sitting at "pending" for almost a week now.
have you cleared yet? price is stabilizing after a crazy few days. dooo it
Still no, still trying. Name on the bank account matches the name on my Kraken account. Any other recommendations insomniasexx? That other bitcoin exchange seems to be all money orders and I have no idea how those work?
Have your tried circle? Or localbitcoin? At least then you'll get bitcoin and can swap it for eth via shapeshift. Are your funds pending on kraken or are you not verified yet?
I'm verified it's just pending because fuck Kraken or fuck my bank, sent a message to customer service earlier and I'm working on the circle thing but even that takes a couple of business days to actually process.
For some reason I thought Circle had instant debit card or something.
Wait yr right, i misread that holy shit I'm finally going to have eth that only took a couple weeks.
Well... Technically you're going to have BTC. But then you can use shapeshift and that only takes 20 minutes. So yay!
When I'm in the "wait" period on shapeshift is it normal to get account not found error on etherchain?
Yes. Until you transfer money to your account it won't show up. You may be able to see the transaction ID sooner. It takes ~20 minutes. Go wash the dishes and come back.
Not bad! I have no doubts it'll go up. Whoooo!!! flagamuffin - get on this train!
I've gotten on the train, but so far I'm down 5€ between BTC conversion and the falling course. But I'm along for the long haul anyways. I lost a lot of time in the BTC confirmation phase. Rest went pretty smooth.
