Mourning for the neuroscience community :(

Hodgkin and Huxley together modernized the study of cellular neuroscience, and their work ultimately has led to today's neurophysics and computational neuroscience fields.

It really is sad to hear that now both of them have passed (Hodgkin died in '98, at the age of 84).

Fortunately for us, men like this don't really ever die. Anyone who wants to learn the mathematical principles behind electrical propagation in an axon has no choice but to encounter (and master) the H-H model.
