Have 20 minutes to spare listening to me loop myself hundreds of times on my new Les Paul?
This is how my musical head works. This is me recording myself without a plan, a pre-written melody or anything. This is what happened. Some of it is pretty kick ass. Some of it, not so much. I'd be glad to know that even one person heard this all the way through.
Enjoy!

ButterflyEffect, I thought of you tonight while doing this. I think a loop pedal would be a good thing for you.
Ok, so I just listened to the whole thing. Some of it is incredible for just noodling around! Particular points of interest for me were: 5:30 - 8:15 - The building dissonance was awesome. It's really reminding me of something, but I can't put my finger on it. I want to say Pink Floyd, but I can't think of something specific. Had me feeling chills though, so that's good. 11:20 - The guitar harmonies start to really work together and it's beautiful. 15:00 - Dude. Those spectral harmonies though. So pleasant to listen to! I seriously don't think people utilise good harmonies enough. When you build them up with so many layers, it just adds something so powerful to a song! Awesome stuff TNG!
Thank you very much for listening. All the moments you mention are the bits I really enjoy as well. It's so much fun to do. It's dangerous as I don't have lits of time.
You ask and you shall receive. This sounds lame:
Sure thing. Nothing very good came of it, but it's 100% improvised. Sounds really bad recorded through the computer
Thank you! I may take you up on the filming thing.
Agree with jafle, after listening to the entire thing the last 3-4 minutes were my favorite part. Amazing job there, especially once the percussion kicks in. That was unexpected in a very good way. Why do you think it would be good?
That makes sense! You're the first person I know that actually owns a loop pedal, so I was curious as to what you like about it (outside of making noodling around more fun).
If you have an iPhone, buy the "loopy HD" app. Make sure to plug in headphones while using it. It's fun.
It really helps to display the spatial nature of music. You have a loop which is essentially a canvass, limited by time, it's awesome fun.
This is some pretty dang cool stuff. I can hear how your mind is working... I used a loop pedal with a 7-string bass for a couple of years after first seeing Paul Hinklin of SadHappy do ... amazing shit ... with nothing more than a bass, a couple of effects, a loop pedal, and a drummer. Check out SadHappy on Bandcamp here, and listen to "My Charming Personality" first, then "Before We Were Dead". And then all of it. Every day. For ever. Because it is so incredibly good... Of course Zoe Keating wins all the looping awards that will ever be given ever, and listening to the way she weaves looping lines is a masterclass in melody, technical prowess, and FUN. Enjoy your journey!!
Andrew is pretty great too. I'll check out your tunes and the links. Thanks!
