I saw this on a friends fb page recently. It's pretty darned funny. Do you think it was inadvertent?

I don't know. Though I would not be surprised. Sometimes when sending copy to a printer or the agency sending the ad to the magazine the color palate doesn't match the palate of the other company. For all we know the seat could be dark blue or purple and it was just a color mismatch.

I would agree that the original intent was likely not to create a phallic image but they had to have noticed prior to going to print that this was an unusual image. Right?

Well the old little mermaid vhs box had a golden penis on top of the center spire of the castle...

LOL! I remember hearing about this in my college psychology class. I immediately went to my local Blockbuster and found the box. And there it was, in all it's golden glory!

(Yes, I am that old that not only did video stores still exist, they only had VHS.)

I still remember when the town I grew up in got it's first video rental store. I was in that place all the time. I was probably 7 or 8 years old. We lived downtown on one side of main street and the rule was I could go anywhere I wanted on our side of Main street but couldn't cross because traffic was too heavy. The only cool store on our side was the video store. They even had candy!

I remember staring at cassette boxes like Howard the Duck and more notably, Porky's and begging my parents to rent them. Eventually, I'd see them both and would far prefer Porky's ;-)

I loved that place though, great memories.. .thanks.
