Some articles or topics can fit into more than one tag.

Not at all. There have just been endless debates over tagging and the proper implementation of tags for Hubski. (I had some great ones with kleinbl00, when he roamed the site.) It is still not resolved in my mind. However, I (more or less) hold the position that tagging systems are either pretty awful, or encourage activity antithetical to the structure of Hubski; and that the actual intent of the tag on Hubski is not effective categorization of posts, but one free dimension around which users can aggregate content and/or editorialize as they choose.

It's not a extremely defensible position, I'll grant. And, although I think the tension of choosing a good tag is usually a positive thing, it can be frustrating. But, I still have yet to be convinced that multiple tags will be an improvement.

Well there have been several trans related articles i felt might have got more coverage under another tag, however i wanted to tag them #transgender also for the people who are subscribed to the transgender tag and not others. This way if something is trans related but also related to another tag it gets its fair audience. But in the end its your site and its a free service.

Yes, I just sat for a moment and went back and forth on whether or not I should tag an article #detroit or #cities. I do know the feeling.

Still, IMO if there are any Hubskiers that are interested in trans related articles, I wouldn't expect it to take long before they find the option to follow you. And, to the extent they can't find you, that means I need to improve discovery. -Which I do.

Well most hubski people like most people in general are ignorant of transgender issues ( i do not fault anyone for this) so most people arent going to go looking for trans related articles most of the time. At the same time i dont want to shove it down anybody's throat so i dont know o_o

I've edited a couple of my posts a few days later so they show up in "recent XXXX posts" even though I originally tagged it something else. I change one today because I saw a tag being used - higgsy.

Ha! Nice... caio started Higgsy I believe. I've always liked that one.

btw, caio, if you see this: We started Game of Thrones tonight and after 2 episodes, we're pretty well hooked. FYI.

Game of Thrones is amazing. I just started season 2 (after a fuckton of will-power) and powered through all 5 in a day. Now I have to wait between episodes like the rest of the world. :(

You should read the books (or audiobooks if you're so inclined, the narrator is really good) because there is so much you miss out in character & relationship-wise in the TV show.

Thanks, I'll take you up on the audio books. I have to drive a lot for work and was just thinking it's time for a new series to listen to.
