This is going to be a decent showing. The moon will be new and won't wash out the dimmer meteors. If you get the chance, about midnight, go out and look up for about 10-15 minutes. The Perseids are more like pebbles and bigger grains of sand than a normal shower and there are usually multiple bright fireballs and meteors with trails left behind. The peak in Wednesday and Thursday so go out and enjoy.

I've watched for the last 2 nights and so far see no discerable peak from the number of meteors I'd normally see on an average night. Hoping for clear skies tonight and a few more.
