New claims for US unemployment benefits fell last week, hovering at four-year lows as the ailing labor continues to mend, government data showed Thursday.
The Labor Department reported 357,000 initial jobless claims were filed in the week ending March 31, the lowest level since April 2008.
It was a decrease of 6,000 from the prior week’s upwardly revised 363,000. But analysts had expected a sharper fall, to 355,000 claims.

Mitt Romney has to hate these numbers. His economic argument isn't going to have much punch if people are getting back to work. I'm wondering what alternate cases he might decide to make. It will be tough, he hasn't been a social issue candidate, and I don't think that would win the general election anyway.
BTW, I'm not thrilled by either Obama or Romney, so please don't interpret this as a political stance.

Good point, and point taken. I would be fine with Obama or Romney as president. Preferably Obama.
