- Around 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults are at risk of hearing loss due to over-exposure to audio devices, including smartphones, besides the damaging levels of sound at noisy entertainment venues such as nightclubs, bars and sporting events, according to the World Health Organization.
I listen to white noise through headphones from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. I do this in order to block out annoying sounds like airplanes and barking dogs, otherwise I wouldn't be able to concentrate and I would be mad all the time. It sucks, because I have (or used to have) pretty good hearing, and I know I might be damaging my ear drums, but I don't really have any better options at the moment. I guess I'll just wait for bionic ears!
