This song was put on a MIX TAPE (remember those, hubski?) made for me by a paramour. This song so represented his desire for freedom and fun (a pony on a boat) and control of hopeless situations - to be lightening: Speaking of hopeless love - I've been meaning to talk to you about your aunt who after 50 years of being single, found the love of her life, and then lost him shortly after. I think you posted this on a pubski. Here's what I think: If you have at least one big passion that doesn't end in broken glass, it's been a good run. Your aunt experienced a big passion (I hope). It's so sad for her that it's over -- but I doubt she'd do it differently. And now that she knows it's out there, maybe she'll give it another shake some day. In any event, it's been a good run.(And I’d scare ‘em by the shade tree / And I’d scare ‘em by the light pole)
anyway, you nailed it with this one Sir Galen.
Very nice. I've always thought if I met the right girl I'd like to make her a mixtape or two. Ooh, I rather like the sound of that. Perhaps I should attempt to be knighted... Yes, I spoke about my aunt in the latest Pubski. I agree with your sentiment about passion - I know she's pretty overwhelmed with grief right now, but I don't doubt that her grieving will soon be superseded by fulfillment and/or fond nostalgia. This song was put on a MIX TAPE (remember those, hubski?) made for me by a paramour. Sir Galen
It's funny how life works. I could go an entire year without talking about Lyle Lovett and Hubski could likely go a year without anyone posting a Lyle Lovett tune (not that this a good thing, he's got some great music) but in the last two days, I have had two Lyle Lovett conversations and now you post this. You aren't a 24 year old girl named Stephanie, are you? Our childcare provider used to work for an entertainment venue. Apparently in LL's rider it mentions that he only wants FIJI water or an equivalent. The equivalent they provided was below his standards and his manager made sure to let everyone know. Now, according to Stephanie, Lyle was ver nice about the whole thing, it was his manager that was the jerk. The other conversation was just about how I liked what I've heard by him but couldn't name an album/song. I should remedy this.
