So Nausicaa got the majority vote in the last thread.
Watch it here:

I'm sure there are various sources for these videos so if you find more or better ones feel free to post them.
The discussion thread will be poster in a week on April 1st (not a joke)

As someone who never watches anime, can I just jump in and watch this? I've seen Spirited Away and, when looked at it as a Eastern fairytale, found it an interesting story albeit something I'm not used to. Should I know anything beforehand? Is it something I might like and why?
I would say yes, you can just jump in and watch it. It's one of anime's greatest movies. The story and setting are interesting enough that you don't really need to dig the style to be able to appreciate it. Miyazaki's works have always been somewhat distinct in style and typically escape or transcend the standard anime tropes, so there's also that.
Hey guys. I have some 'splainin' to do. This is how far I've gotten in Watchmen. This is how far I've gotten in Rendezvous with Rama. (I was oddly disinclined to taking a screenshot.) But I have a copy of Nausicaa! And two free hours between now and April 1st. So I will be on time with this discussion, I promise. I've been feeling really bad about not being able to keep up. I'm a team leader in Americorps, supervising a team of 8 other 18-24 year olds, and in between teaching and mentoring and coaching, I'm a full-time fucking babysitter. A single mom with 8 always-hungry-and-always-complaining children. I don't have two seconds to rub together. Which is an exaggeration, I have time, but now that we're done our trainings and we're out in the field doing our service, my evenings are mine again. So I begin again our discussions with renewed commitment.
