This article seems like a soft ax job to me, sewing seeds of doubt. I think that in the end, the nominees will be the ultimate measure of the effort.
I guess it all depends on the candidate. I'll run. :) I'll raise your taxes and cut your entitlements. We are going to spend a ton of money on infrastructure. Modernization of infrastructure is going to be the name of the game for my term. Some corporate giants are going to be forced to split into smaller companies where competition is low. Glass Steagall is coming back. No renewal of the Patriot Act. No other big stuff unless circumstances demand it. Everything else will just be well-reasoned but incremental moves.
