Just tried to post this. There are many on the list that I would like to visit.
I hear that trips to Bhutan are really much more tightly controlled than the writer of the article indicates. I'm told that hotels are for foreigners only or foreigners are only allowed in certain hotels and that you're not allowed to go anywhere without the guide and even then only into certain areas. I have also heard that the country is trying to open up to more tourists, but it seems like the current model of tourism is a bit expensive and limited.
