Crazy how the absolute inevitability of that war was hiding in plain sight. The 4th estate rolled over completely. When Cheyney was tasked by Bush to select his VP and chose himself for the job, that was it right there. Bush was in over his head. Bunch of chicken hawks with an agenda that wasn't to be stopped.
I remember reading this before the invasion. It was pretty clear what was happening. Also, read the PNAC Statement of Principles. And the signatories: Dick Cheney, Eliot A. Rowen, Donald Rumsfeld, Vin Weber, George Weigel, Paul Wolfowitz I recall my father, who had served in Vietnam, saying that the 150k troop invading army was crazy, and that no one could hold the country with so few. It sounds like a fairly big number, but the UofM stadium holds 110k. They impact local traffic and restaurants on game day, but would be spread pretty thin across a country of 30M the about 1.5x size of Michigan.Elliott Abrams, Gary Bauer, William J. Bennett, Jeb Bush,
