Back in the Dark Ages I did some online dating. Google didn't quite exist yet and everyone was naive. I asked some girl how she liked working at her company - she was horrified, how on earth would I know such a thing? I told her that I looked up her first name and last name on the Internet (think it was Alta Vista back then) and jokingly said something like "congratulations for winning State three years ago." This casual attempt at humor legit had her delete her account off of Match.com.

Someone should set up a Facebook Ads simulator so that people can discover just how appallingly invasive you can get. I mean, anyone can buy a Facebook ad? but nobody would think to do it just to stare into the abyss.
