So safe kink practices are backup key, rope-cutting scissors, emergency contact that is going to check in etc. I guess in this case there should be a backup key available, but really I'd expect an IoT device like this to always open-when-failed, that's just poor product design otherwise? Makers opening themselves up for a lawsuit... I just feel sorry for the users that had their kink intruded on like this, scammers are gross.
