Did it disappear completely? Any significant side effects of the medication?
No. Gout is actually a progressive disease. Once damage occurs to the bones of the toe/foot it has a corrosive/abrasive effect, destroying cartilage and eroding bone. I am on daily allopurinol and colchicine to slow the crystals from accumulating further but damage has been done that the body cannot repair by normal methods. Nausea mostly, lots of it. Stomach cramps and tinnitus.
