Holy shit that's an about face.

The first paragraph sounds great. Then they go on to say that law enforcement should always have a backdoor.

This basically says strong encryption can be used for child porn so strong encryption shouldn’t be available.

It's an unexpected and truly egalitarian move. Building back doors into safety-critical systems for everyone to exploit and use!.

It just reads like they want to redefine 'strong encryption', claim victory in the debate, and ignore all the privacy and security concerns.

Look at the signatories. US, UK, Australia, NZ, Japan, India. I guess they finally all figured out China has a lot more to lose if the world adopts strong encryption than we have to gain if we don't adopt it.

Oh yeah - total Five Eyes shit no doubt.

I was lazy; it's not an about-face at all they still want their law-enforcement backdoor which is just same shit different day. They still get to be mad at Apple and Google and anyone who won't support their fishing expeditions.

It's in like line 3. I feel bad.

Lol. I was lazier. I read like one line then skipped to the end to see who wrote it.
