ok... more thoughts after a few times through. There are moments of slight dissonance that harken me to XTC... which if you know me, is some of the highest praise I could give. Example at 0:40-0:46 which also happens to fit SO PERFECTLY with the lyrics, which are jarring and wonderful. The harmonies throughout are so pleasant, and just scratch an itch. I'm singing along... like... I can't help it.

Thank you Steve!! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was hanging with a friend and let them know how much I hate small talk. Later, I mentioned that I was gonna record music and asked her to give me a title for a song. She said, “small talk. :-)
