The Celera recently stepped out of the dark, too. My personal favorite F-U craft, the DA-42, will do 200 knots at 10 gallons per hour. Otto claims the Celera will do 400 knots at 18 gallons per hour. A Hondajet, by comparison, is 90 gallons per hour while a Cessna Citation burns 190.

The Celera is cool. Love the pusher-prop and dolphin body.

But that DA-42 is ... really pretty. An executive's Warthog? I dunno... something about it just makes my gears turn.

I'd trade my Celera for a DA-42.

It's a Cessna 172 designed after 2010. All-carbon, Jet-A, glass cockpit.

The Celera will do a pilot, a copilot and six passengers. The DA-42 will do you, your wife and that couple you golf with.

Additional baggage is stowed in two generous nose compartments that are sized for golf bags and offer maximum flexibility in loading for any mission.

Or, you know, a long-endurance surveillance package.

shit, and it's cheaper than a Cirrus SR22?

...one can dream...

Holy fuck I had no idea Cirrus were that expensive.

This one's been for sale for like five years. I fell in love with Foland Gnats when I saw one at Pima Air & Space - it's like a BD-5J for people who actually want to fly. Unfortunately it burns 180 gallons per hour.
