Pakistan has had a rough time with vaccinations because the Taliban says all NGOs are just the CIA spying on villages when they come through to vaccinate the children. So what did the CIA do when they needed to find bin Laden?

Posed as NGOs vaccinating children.

I don't think we've ever appropriately evaluated that as a society. Want to kill Bin Laden? Yes, ok, how badly? Badly enough that you'll risk a polio epidemic? Cool, let's do that.

I hope that we've learned from covid that diseases don't tend to stay put. I don't know off hand what the polio vaccination coverage in the US is. I thought they had stopped doing it, but I know my kids have had it. So either they never stopped or they've brought it back. Not sure. Even if it's 100% the CIA fucked up royally in that mission.

The CIA has not, is not, and will never be concerned with what society chooses to evaluate. I think the World Factbook is their friendly beard operation to make you forget that their principle stock in trade is covert wars of destabilization in pursuit of American corporate hegemony.
