Amber Smith was a group of friends in Budapest, who played an easy form of pop music that had a little more going for it than usual. The keyboard player - who was also the keyboard player in my band - posted this song to Facebook the other day, and we we had a 130 comment thread going for a few days reminiscing about the old days: This whole album - My Little Servant - was fantastic, start to finish. Last thing I did before I left Budapest was go on tour with these guys. My band at the time (Stig Roar Husby) shared a drummer with the Amber Smith Band, so we all were able to pack the 7 of us and all our equipment into a single van and toured for almost 2 weeks together around the Balkans. It was wild. (Side Note: Nathan Johnson, the drummer for both Stig Roar Husby and Amber Smith was one of the original punk/grunge drummers in Seattle, who played with both The Fastbacks and Flop, who people like Nirvana and Pearl Jam listened to when they were starting to play music.)
