Not a good look for the statue of liberty
I think we could be headed for a grassroots political revolution in a few months. Other countries did things (good things, not just PR) with the time that they bought themselves during lockdown. It will soon become painfully obvious to even Joe Dumbfuck, in ruralville. My, erm, "favorite" bit of intel from this article: People with knowledge of the “cubic model” say it currently shows deaths dropping precipitously in May — and essentially going to zero by May 15. I say that we just let economists run everything, at least one of them has heard the word "cubic", though it's unclear if the usage is correct, here. I'm so fucking sick of this reality that I'm about to wipe my ass with anyone's magical thinking.White House officials have been relying on other models to make decisions on reopening, including the IHME model and a “cubic model” prepared by the Council of Economic Advisers, led by Trump adviser Kevin Hassett.
There is some interesting data being generated right now, for sure. Do you hypos the size (thanks, autocorrect, incredible suggestion) more or less conversions, and in which age group?
I suspect large increases in religious 'nones' across all age groups if we are talking about totals. Comparing branches of Christianity to each other would be most interesting to me. It seems to me like the last decade's long trend towards mega churches will continue. Small churches simply cant stay operating when their major cash source (The Elderly) are donating less or outright dying of Covid. As an anecdote I recieve the digital newsletter of a small church I am unfortunately emotionally attached to. They cant go a week without 2-3 obituaries and it's been going on since the beginning of march. The few young families that would be left after the elders pass dont have the material means to run their existing building/organization. They have been hemorrhaging membership ever since our local megachurch got aggressive with promoting music nights with free childcare. I think that the more fundamentalist, apocalyptic and fire and brimstone groups will attract more members for a while. Those are the groups actually converting uneducated, fearful non-believers whereas your local megachurch is more parasitic and serves to poach members from existing, dying churches. The comparative data would be most interesting to me. Edit for a small addition- There will come into existence some church that resembles the Fosterites from Stranger in a Strange Land.
You got some time on your hands, right? https://www.cia.gov/library/center-for-the-study-of-intelligence/csi-publications/csi-studies/studies/vol52no2/intelligence-in-recent-public-literature-1.html I wouldn't say this is next-level shit. I would say this is exactly what you would expect from the country that created and curates Tik Tok. They've got exactly the metrics to determine what's sticky with what audience and they're absolutely attempting to get the attention of everyone under 30. I think China has a lot to answer for with their handling of the pandemic but I also think the recrimination within China is far greater than the recriminations without. I also think that the behavior of the United States makes parody, ridicule and propagandist efforts thunderously low effort. Both of these crews would likely have been over the moon if they could have done text-to-speech and Lego stop motion.
You’ve just been thrown in the Soviet gulags for your little “over the moon” phrasing stunt
