Serious question: Are there grounds on which he could be considered as mentally ill? Also, is psychological disease untouchable if it only surfaces in a religious expression?

Even as someone that is quite liberal, this guy doesn't represent the GOP to me.

Well, if the Bible is infallible, shouldn't all fundamentalists believe this? The fundamentalist creed is that the Bible is the Word. Therefore, the death penalty for children and spouses, not to mention the conditions under which one has the right to sell them into slavery, is the will of God and the One True Word. I hope this guy espouses the stoning to death of all his constituents who dare to plant mixed crops on the same field.

Well there is enough in the bible to believe whatever you want.

Obviously, yes. My point was about how ridiculous it is to take fundamentalist positions. To me its all or nothing, and since it can't be all...

I think if people tried to be fundamentalist about everything they wouldn't last too long; madness, prison the lack of viable mates and probably other factors would take care of our fundamentalist problem in short order.
