This dude tours with a favorite artist of mine. Watching a one-man-band workshop a track piece-by-piece with a loop in front of an audience is something neat to be a part of. HiSessions showcases how he constructs each song really well. Another feature of constructing a melody syllable by syllable (at 4:22):
Haven't heard that Mike Love track for a while. I remember posting it on reddit or maybe here and being disappointed it got no attention whatsoever so it's great to find someone else who likes it!
I can't remember where I first heard it, but I do remember it was some (long lost) article on recursive, looping music like Bach's fugues and canons
Mindex Sleep Deprivation is a nice find - thanks for that. If you like mid-tempo psytrance you might enjoy a mix posted on r/Psybient recently- Rise for the Earth. I think Dhamika, Dreaming Cooper, Mystic Crock and Paleokontakt fall into that category. Feels like there's a deluge of them from Russian these days.
Not contributing a song, but I have a story! My dad drove me to work today - When I left my apartment, I was listening to Two Headed Boy. When I got into his car, he was listening to the song at the exact time that I shut mine off. The serendipity was almost as overwhelming as the sense that my dad is way cooler (and I'm way older) than I thought!
A friend played the studio version of this for me. I've never heard of this song, and the trio plays a form of Americana that isn't really what I usually listen to (not that I think it's bad, it's just mot my taste). But man, I tell you, this song, its theme and lyrics, the way these three tackle it? It was good and I knew I'd have to find a version to share with you guys.
here's a quick attempt at translating (with likely misinterpretations) the town's lights looking like an illusion fruitlessly shining, lonesomely shining the piled-up snow on the highway i can't return home hit by a car, burned by gas darkly dirtying and mixing with oil this scene doesn't reflect that stuff i'm annoyed(, but hey) the city at a standstill, like that throughout completely stopped, completely stopped thinking about that i'm behind the times, i guess this city hasn't laughed in who knows how long i'm annoyed(, but hey) this scene doesn't reflect that stuff i'm annoyed(, but hey)even this dirty street is hidden by snow
