Trump proceeded to explain that NATO, too, was worthless. U.S. generals were letting the allied member countries get away with murder, he said, and they owed the United States a lot of money after not living up to their promise of paying their dues.

It'd make me feel better if he had given any sort of genuine ideological defense of dismantling NATO, but the disinformation here gives away that this is probably regurgitation of Russian talking points. If any NATO country is guilty of recently getting away with murder (edit: oh, besides US, ofc), it's probably Turkey, which Trump has aligned himself with almost more than any other NATO country (Macron vs. Erdogan). So that's... huh.

The WaPo article has probably gotten enough reads now that Trump will address it via tweetstorm in the morning, calling for investigations into the leakers giving WaPo the info. If more constipated than normal, he might even ask Barr to investigate Tillerson, who knows.

Omg the Mike Pence characterizations tho. What a hollow husk of a man. I'm still not going to offer praise for Tillerson, sorry not sorry, he gutted the state department. Really, all of these people should have at least had discussions about invoking the 25th amendment. Maybe they did.

I also just realized that Rocketman Jong Un will probably do his missile testing sometime during the Senate impeachment trial, next week or the week after. Yikes.

Nunes aide communicated with Parnas about Ukraine campaign, messages show

Trump has no ideology to speak of. Presenting an ideological defense to Trump would be like presenting a P&L to Marianne Williamson - I mean, she'd probably get the point? But it wouldn't be compelling. And she'd probably second guess whether she ever really knew you at all.

Kinda amazing that the Exxon dude ended up disgusting us the least.

mmmhhmmm:

Sorry for linking dailymail. Seriously though, at least we're in for a spectacle while the world burns down around us, with Robert Hyde & co. getting injected into the mix. Listen to this (source):

The gist seems to be that Hyde had connected with a guy named Anthony de Caluwe either at Mar-a-Lago or the D.C. Trump hotel. De Caluwe seems to be another Trump superfan, though it’s not clear to me whether he’s actually American. In any case, when he was first contacted by NBC News he basically denied working with Hyde in any way. This was quickly undercut by the new document releases this evening. At that point de Caluwe stopped responding to NBC’s queries. They were then contacted by another pro-Trump Youtube personality named Karyn Turk, who said she was now representing de Caluwe to the media. Turk is also an apparent associate of Roger Stone and just last week was sentenced to a month in federal prison and subsequent house arrest for stealing her mother’s social security checks. Presumably she hasn’t yet reported to prison to serve her sentence.

A complete and total disdain for morals, government, science, and everything in between seems to be the brightest common thread that binds these people. Seeking power or wealth isn't criminal, it's logical and instinctual, but seeking power/wealth at the expense of everyone else should be the quickest way to disqualify yourself from holding any reins of power. And it used to be, much more so, seems like.

I'm still scurred. This year gon' be cray.

Also, in case you missed it, the first section of this is a bit rough (imho), but if you make it to the "Mooks and Knights" section, I highly recommend the rest:
