I remember reading somewhere that planting trees above a certain latitude is counter-productive because the dark green of trees absorb sunlight, effectively warming the earth vs reflecting the sunlight back into space if it was bare ground. Something called the albedo effect. But I truly don’t know enough about ecology to judge if it’s total BS or an actual concern about being more mindful of re-forestation efforts and do it right.
