I guess it's all the rage to hate on Star Wars now. Bla bla, screw J.J for the fan service, how dare he bring Palpatine back, fuck Disney cause the legends that aren't canon anymore. I can understand being invested enough to be disappointed, but... I'm all in. I'm excited. No it doesn't seem to be going the direction I wanted. Yes there are parts of the series I didn't like... but I didn't make the movies, Disney did. And Abrams and Kennedy certainly made something bigger and better than most the haters could have. I'm excited to see how they wrap up the saga and tie in parts from the first two trilogies. More space battles makes me happy. I'm excited for more Star Wars films from Rian Johnson, Kevin Feige AND Benioff and Weiss. Disney probably own's my soul and I'm not even mad about it. I've been to Galaxy's Edge and I'll be a day one Disney+ subscriber. P.S. Fuck you, Solo and Rogue One were good movies too.
I quite enjoyed Rogue One - particularly that end scene in the hallway we all know about. It's possible I'm saved by not being a huge fan of the universe. I've watched them all as they come about, and I was a youngster when the prequels were emerging so that to me, was Star Wars. I wind up just going in expecting some sweet fights and space flight, I'm happy.
