Ways And Means Has Whistleblower Complaint Concerning Trump's Tax Returns:
There is a second whistleblower complaint involving President Trump. This one reportedly concerns efforts to influence the audit of the president’s taxes.
Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Richard Neal, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, has consulted with House attorneys about releasing the complaint.
Until now, I had mostly seen the "second whistleblower" story in opinion pieces. It's SO worth listening to Rep. Neal talk in the audio interview in the link above, if you can. All 5 minutes.
I think we generally do a good job here with only posting what we perceive as serious legal infractions. No one posted or mentioned Sharpiegate, which was arguably almost serious, or a myriad of other little petty things over the last few months. We're posting now because there have been days upon days of leaked (and provided!) information revealing what appears to be unacceptable abuses of the presidency, and it requires immediate correction.
How long will the GOP hold out? And how are their interpretations of executive power and privilege so sweeping without them realizing that they're jonesin' for a dictatorship?
