It's been approved for declassification tonight, edit: but we probably won't see it until tomorrow :(. At least now they can discuss it Thursday/this morning during the public hearing with the acting DNI.
A friend was discussing Mitch McConnell and how jail isn't good enough for "these people" etc and I looked him in the eye and said
"What would you pay for the Republican Party to go away forever?"
The Republicans have been riding a populist wave since Goldwater at least; the conflict between the "rich white guys make money" wing and the "burn the darkies" wing has resolved itself into Trump and the party is doing everything it can to leverage the populism in favor of their economic policies. But now the populist wing has taken things to such extremes that external observers wonder what they stand for in the first place.
The Whigs and the Know-Nothings are gone. This might be what the passing of the Republican Party looks like. Perhaps this is how two-party deadlock ends: through the self-immolation of the Republicans and the calcification of the Democrats.
