One interesting theory that I've already forgotten the source of--kb, was it you??--is that liberals should get Costa Rica, Guam, the Virgin Islands, etc. admitted to the Union to tip the balance away from the small states. But, again, this relies on Congress getting something done which beggars belief.
People think the Kochs are Republicans. They're not - not really. They're Libertarians. David even ran as Libertarian VP in 1980. Their support over the past election cycle has been notably absent. This here is a whole new Republican party, with a whole new cast of characters.
