“You will all know what my name is.”

I got no idea what your name is. But I know who Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg are.

Here is a passage from Lott’s The War on Guns:

Well that seems like an unbiased and credible source.

the media jumps so quickly on abolishing the 2nd Amendment,

They do? Aside from one op ed, written by a former Supreme Court Justice no less, I can't say I've ever heard the media call for the abolition of the second amendment. As if the media is a monolith you can ascribe opinions to to begin with

To some people, any attempt at reasonable, responsible gun control is perceived as an attempt to tear up the second amendment. We have a smaller problem here in Canada, where any time someone brings up wanting to revamp our gun laws (because there are some nonsensical elements to them), there's a sudden and intense pushback from the gun owning community because they'd rather have the bad gun laws we have than what they perceive as a potential tightening on their hobby.

We have a constitutional right to own guns as of about ten years ago. Takes things to a surreal level when the founders of the country include that kind of language. We also have a lot of people with surreal reverence for the guys. It's a weird situation. People argue about comma placement in the Bill of Rights

yeah, I would argue that the deification of your founding fathers is one of the biggest problems that America has. It causes a lot of really weird legal arguments, and also stifles change and progress.

Jim Jefferies pretty well nailed it

“You cannot change the Second Amendment!” And I’m like, “Yes, you can. It’s called an ‘amendment.'” If you can’t change something that’s called an “amendment”, see, many of you need a thesaurus more than you need a constitution.
