I wounder if anything will come of this, it seems like the unions are actually working against the teachers and not communicating their demands. The teachers go out and ask for basic shit like healthcare and class supplies and somehow that becomes a demand for a 20% raise which is a lot less popular. The unions at the local level might work Ok but at the state level they really suck and it’s unclear if they are working for or against teachers

IIRC, this was the case in West Virginia as well. The strike was about healthcare, the union secured raises, the state legislature backed out the raise, and then the strike went wildcat.
