Not that I know what to do but I like the comparison in the article to the Depression when people were undercutting each other out of desperation. It's similar but it's not to the degree of the Depression so, as the article says, no policy makers care. I don't disagree that a safety net is needed but there must be some regulation that can be imposed that would be fair to the companies and the employees. Like how minimum wage is $2.12 for servers unless they don't make the difference between that and the minimum in tips. Which never happens with any server I know because then the IRS might get curious about unclaimed cash tips or something and they just let the weekends pick up the slack. I guess. I've never actually been a server. And now I'm way off topic...
